Formula Ford

Chris entered the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship for the 2008/09 season. The decision to enter was made late and Chris was very much the ‘rookie’ of the class. It meant that the first few rounds were learning more than anything else. However, by Round 3 Chris was moving through the ranks placing higher and higher, achieving 4th to 6th position finishes.
Chris also competed in the South Island Series achieving many podium positions and a 2nd place round finish at Teretonga Race Track, Invercargill.  Chris won the Waltham Cup for the best performance in the national Formula Ford series.
The family chose to cut the season 2 rounds short as Chris was given the opportunity to test the Toyota Racing Series Lites cars for 2 rounds.

Toyota Racing Series Lites

The opportunity to compete in two rounds of the TRS Lites cars was given to Chris. This included a round at Manfeild where Chris went very well achieving 10th position in the New Zealand Grand Prix. He also competed at the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercar street race which was a daunting but hugely beneficial and worthwhile experience.

Suzuki

Suzuki Swift Sport Cup

Following a Suzuki Swift Sport Cup car test at Ruapuna in August 2010 where in four short sessions Chris put in a fast time on a green track, which was only just off the pole position from the last two years, clearly indicating that Chris would be at the ‘sharp end’ in the 2010/2011 Tier 1 Motorsport Series. After a tough season and varied results Chris has ended up as one of the top drivers in the series. From the 2010/2011 season Chris gained 3 race wins and a round win at Timaru. Due to some bad luck he wasn't as high in the series as hoped but it is very positive leading into the 2011/2012 season.
